Mourinho Rejects Monaco's Bid For Omeruo



--Defender  Hits Chelsea Malaysia Camp Today

Chelsea manager,  Jose Mourinho vehemently turned down Monaco request to land Super Eagles and AD Den Haag loanee , Kenneth Omeruo, CS Saturday can exclusively report.

The player’s confidante revealed to Complete Sports  Saturday, that  the player’s agent had put in a call to Omeruo recently in Abuja on the goodnews but maintained that Mourinho told Monaco to keep their money since the Super Eagles player will be part of his plans  in the new season.

Indeed, Omeruo had laughed off the news and maintained that he is far more interested in enjoying regular club football to further enhance his chances in the national team.

“Omeruo has been on the radar of Monaco for sometime now even though they have not allowed the move   to get to the media. Obi his agent had put in a call to Kenneth while holidaying in Abuja that Mourinho had turned down Monaco bid to land him on a permanent deal.

Kenneth was excited by the news , after he was told that Mourinho hinged his decision on the ground that he needs the Nigerian defender at Stamford Bridge next season and has been told to resume at Chelsea’s   pre season training camp in Malaysia today,” his confidant revealed.

It would be recalled that Omeruo was called into the senior Nigeria squad ahead of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, and after coming on as a substitute during their opening game against Burkina Faso, he played the full 90 minutes in the following five matches as the Super Eagles reached and won the final, Burkina Faso the opponents at the end as well as the beginning of the tournament.

Since then, Omeruo spent the majority of the second half of the season playing in the centre of defence, as opposed to at right-back, were he featured largely early on, and he continues to impress.
