ANICHEBE OUT, AMEOBI IN

Keshi set to unveil squad for Friendly Vs South Africa..

Super Eagles head coach,Stephen Keshi has hinted that Everton FC of England forward,Victor Anichebe will not be part of the Nigerian national team squad for next month's international friendly game against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa.

The Big Boss is expected to submit the list of players for the game to the Nigeria Football Federation today in Abuja and he told Complete Sports on arrival in Abuja from Benin City Sunday that another England-based player,Shola Ameobi will be invited for the game. The former Super Eagles skipper however refused to reveal the number of foreign-based players that will be invited, but he was categorical that Anichebe would not be one of them because he has yet to make contact with the Toffee star.

"Anichebe is not on the list because I have yet to establish contact with him. When he decides to answer phone calls, we'll start talking and then we will know whether he wants to continue playing for Nigeria or not," he explained.

"I want Anichebe to boost the Eagles attack but I cannot invite him without his consent. The problem is that Anichebe has not answered my calls nor respond to my messages, so how do we talk'',he asked rhetorically.

Keshi however confirmed that Shola Ameobi who failed to honour an invitation to be in the Nigerian team for the Africa Cup of Nations early this year in South Africa will be available for the Mandela Challenge, stressing that the Newcastle United forward has indicated interest to play.

"Shola has sent me a text message that he wants to play for Nigeria again and I think it is for real this time'', Keshi stated.
