Jose
Mourinho got off to a winning start in his first match since returning
to Stamford Bridge with a 1-0 defeat of Singha All Stars with the news
of a rejected Wayne Rooney offer hanging in the air in Bangkok.
Mourinho
used 21 different players in the Rajamangala Stadium as Romelu ukaku
and Demba Ba gave the Portuguese a tip of what to expect next season.
Lukaku
produced a strong performance in the first-half, holding up the ball,
combining well with those around him, spinning clear of his markers and
working the goalkeeper when the chances presented it selves. He scored
the opener from the penalty spot after Wallace had been fouled.
Ba
came on amid nine half-time changes. He was unable to match the energy
or work-rate of Lukaku, although he always manages to threaten the goal.
The
game was won, which will satisfy Mourinho’s quest for the winning
mentality, even if it was a little more than a valuable training
exercise.
Victor Moses was happy with the result as well, posted the following reaction in his Twitter:
