The permanent secretary, who harped that the ministry did not charge nor accept fee for jobs, advised those peddling such rumour to desist from it, as it was capable of denting government's image.
She posited, "For the avoidance of doubt the Ministry of Interior and the Nigeria Immigration Service, do not charge and will not accept money for jobs, and anybody that demands and accepts money or bribes for job will be appropriately sanctioned in line with extant regulations guiding discipline in the service."
It would be recalled that some aggrieved youths, auspices of the Nigeria Unemployed Youths Vanguard had, on Monday, protested what they described as an exploitation by the Nigerian government.
