A member of the Governing Board of the Thames Valley College, Ikorodu-Sagamu Road, Ogun State, Mr. Babatunde Kolade, has identified motivation as a key to achieving academic success in pupils.
Such incentive, he, however, said could come from one’s parents or school.
Kolade stated this while announcing scholarship awards for students of the school, who excelled in Arts, Sciences, Mathematics and Music.
He said, “To motivate our children to do better in their studies, parents can offer their children some things that can motivate them to even do better.
“I am not referring to material things. In our days, our parents, uncles, brothers and sisters, could buy us novels and books.
“True to its beliefs and values in creating and nurturing great minds for the future, the school has decided to reward students, who demonstrate their above average inclination in these subjects.”
The school, he added would be responsible for the beneficiaries tuition while their parents would cater for their boarding fees.
