THISDAY had on Tuesday, reported a meeting between the state Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, the state Director of the State Security Service (SSS), Mr. Bello Tukur-Bakori; and family of the boy led by her mother, Mrs. Evelyn Oikhena, at Government House.
It was gathered through a source at the meeting that while Oshiomhole was of the view that the boy be handed over to his mother, both the SSS Director and officials of the state Ministry of Women Affairs argued contrary.
“While the governor said he should be givento the mother, the SSS and officials of the Ministry of Women Affairs said no that government should take custody of him" a source who craved anonymity, said.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Oikhena has revealed that her husband, Osaigbivo, abandoned  her and the children, when she had problem with Lift Above Poverty Organisation (LAPO), a microfinance institution.
The boy's father had on Tuesday resurfaced at the Government House, Benin-City, when the governor had a meeting with the state Director of SSS, officials of the state Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, as well as the boy’s mother.
The woman said her problem with the husband started last year when she was robbed in one of her business trips from Koko, the administrative headquarters of Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State.
Oikhena added that she had defect in one of her eyes, which had affected her vision as a result of the severe beaten by her husband.
She also disclosed that the husband and his family members had been disturbing her with several calls on hearing that her son had been given scholarship by the Rauf Aregbesola Foundation.
Oikhena, who vowed never to reconcile with her husband, noted that she separated from him over a year ago as a result of incessant beating as well as her problem with LAPO.
"We separated over one year now. We separated because of the problem I had with LAPO. I was robbed on my way from business trip to Koko market in Delta State. I always go to the market to buy goods," she said.
“I also had defect in one of my eyes that affected my vision at the moment. I cannot see with one of my eyes at the moment due to incessant beaten I received from him. The question you people should ask him is whether he knows the private school Daniel was attending before I transferred him to public school at Ogbe?
“He has since abandoned us. He and his family have been disturbing me with several calls since they heard that Daniel was given scholarship. My son has also told the governor and SSS that he doesn’t want to see his father. My husband is currently staying in his mother house.
“I will resist any attempt to deprive me of the custody of my son. If it happens I will ask them to detain him. I am not after the scholarship money. All that I am after is to release my son to me,” she said.
She further posited that when she reported to her husband that their son was missing, he responded by saying that, “I should go and look for his son for him.
