Return excites Onazi

Super Eagles midfielder Ogenyi Onazi has said he is excited to return to action after he was sidelined by a knee injury for several weeks.

He was on for an hour in a pre-season friendly for Lazio in a 4-1 win over a Brazilian side  on Saturday.
The Nigeria star played without feeling any pains.

“So, it turns out I got my first action on the field of play today since after my knee complaint. Lasted 60 minutes and it went very well,” Onazi wrote on his Twitter page after the game.

“Big thanks to God, my friends and family and all my fans around the world.”

The Jos-born star injured his knee while playing for Nigeria in a 2014 World Cup qualifier against Namibia in Windhoek. He missed the FIFA Confederations Cup in Brazil last month.

He has  been recalled for next month’s  friendly against South Africa in Durban.
