Al Nasr insist on Osaze

Osaze Odemwingie
Dubai-based Al Nasr remain hopeful of signing Osaze  Odemwingie despite West Brom rejecting an £850,000 offer, a club source told Gulf News.

Express & Star had reported on Friday that West Brom were seeking £2m for the 32-year-old, who is currently training with the reserves.

A number of Premier League clubs — including Crystal Palace, Sunderland and Fulham — also retain an interest in the Nigeria forward, who has been seeking an exit since January, when he failed in a high-profile attempt to join Queens Park Rangers.

An Al Nasr source told Gulf News, “Fulham and Sunderland have joined us so it’s more complicated now, but we still want to keep on negotiating. We think we can get him for less than £2m  but it depends on the club (Al Nasr) if they want to go higher and then it depends on the player.”

Al Nasr Media Manager, Fahid Hadi, confirmed that the club were after two strikers to replace outgoing Brazilian forward Bruno Correa and Italian attacker Guiseppe Mascara.

He said, “Three or four players are  on the shortlist with Osaze  and the process is hoped to be completed by next week before the team head to Germany for pre-season training.”
